All I can say is WOW!!!! Our school did such an awesome job with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society fund raiser. Our school raised $1201! Thank you for all of your generosity and support, our class came in first place with the amount of money raised. We bought seven pies to put on our student council member. Our school even raised enough money to put a pie in Mr. Willman's face and three pies in Captain Harold Vincent's face. What a great way to raise money for those less fortunate.

Valentine's Day Treat Bags!
Our class made Valentine treat bags for the staff at Howard. The students decorated bags and attached a "Valentine Survival Kit" poem. The bags were then filled with items from the "Survival Kit" poem. The kids took a field trip around the school and personally delivered the bags to each person. We had a lot of fun letting people know they are very special to us!

We received a letter!
Well, the waiting is over. We received our first letter from our Adopt-A-Grandparent today! We were all so excited. Our "grandparent" sent a nice Valentine's Day card along with a letter. In the letter our "grandparent" told us she was so excited to get our letter and was looking forward to receiving more. What a blessing it is to know that we have touched a life of a person we don't know. Hopefully, we will be receiving more letters.
Hat Day!
Today our Student Council did a fund raiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The children could bring in $1.00 and buy a "hat pass". The students were allowed to wear their hat all day. We will have two more fun hat days on February 13th and 20th. Please bring in your dollar and donate money for this wonderful cause.
Centers!
During our center time today, we worked with time practicing how to tell time on clocks, did Reader's Theater, played on the computers, worked with sequential order, played bingo with our vocabulary words and read for Accelerated Reader. Wow! Look at all the wonderful learning! Great job second graders!
